Shipping Coordinator – Kekaha, HI Role Purpose – The purpose of the role is to coordinate all shipping and receiving activities (PD and PS) for the site in such a way that adheres to all Syngenta, federal, state and local requirements for biotech regulatory compliance, phytosanitation and exporting, as well as, to establish time and cost effective procedures for the activities. Accountabilities – Coordinate shipping and receiving of all Product Development shipments at Kekaha in accordance with project timelines • Coordinate shipment of all Parent Seed Shipments for Kekaha and Kunia sites in accordance with project timelines • Maintain policies and procedures that adhere to all current Syngenta, Federal, State and Local requirements, including Biotech Regulatory compliance, phytosanitation, and exporting. • Ownership and training of process for Shipping and Receiving work instruction in GM Quality Management for Kekaha • Coordinate seed and plant material inspections with USDA and HI DOA • Source reduced cost shipping solutions and carriers for Parent Seed • Track all shipments to destination • Maintain detailed shipping records on all regulated seed shipments • Maintain data on shipping volume by department, item type, cost and date • Participate as an active participant in site Stewardship team • Oversee tasks completed by third-party contract labor to fulfill shipping needs Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities: High school diploma, equivalent or higher, BA or BS preferred. • PC skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook • Strong interpersonal and team work/building skills • Strong organizational and multitasking ability • Conduct in a professional setting • Prefer at least one year of commodity shipping experience or experience in Seed Industry within Hawaii. • Experience with timeline critical business. • Experience within a regulated industry. • Prefer forklift experience. Additional Information: A successful candidate is willing to work overtime and some Saturdays during peak periods, has a strong work ethic, is able to lift 50 lbs., is willing to obtain forklift certification, can work in dusty conditions, and can handle corn and soybean seed and plant material.
