Workshop Manager – Kekaha, HI - 1340 Role Purpose – The purpose of the role is to provide leadership, coordination and safe execution of all Maintenance operations which continue to become more complex and critical given current growth and increasing development demands. These increasing numbers translate directly into additional staffing, equipment and facility needs, which directly impact the Maintenance group. Accountabilities – • Adhere to all current Syngenta, Federal, State and Local HSE requirements, including OSHA and EPA Regulatory and SAMACO compliance • Reliably execute all maintenance operations and projects • Handle in-field equipment repair, safely execute heavy equipment repair, repair and maintenance of a large fleet of vehicles and farm equipment • Establishment of timely and cost effective procedures for the repair activities • Provide coordination support for facility maintenance projects • Recommend and implement changes/refinements to maintenance operations • Maintain detailed repair and maintenance records on all equipment, inventory management of parts and supplies • Maintain data on repair volume by department, item type, cost and date • Participate as an active participant in Maintenance and HSE team • Manage a diverse range of mechanical and building maintenance staff, manage Syngenta and third-party contract labor to fulfill shop needs • Prepare and control of all workshop related budgets and expenses • Actively participate in the setting and execution of station and workshop strategy • Determine and establish goals and service level expectations for the workshop with internal customers • Provide emergency response for first aid, fire and restricted space Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities – Critical knowledge: • Minimum 2 years Associates Degree in Diesel Mechanics, plus related ASE certifications • B.S. strongly preferred Critical experience: • At least 5 years of maintenance experience on mechanical equipment • Prefer experience in a tractor dealership maintenance department • Experience with computers and diagnostic equipment • Experience with timeline critical business • Experience within a regulated industry • Ability to work in a team environment and get along well with others • Must possess or be able to obtain Commercial Drivers License Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities: • Safety leader • Internal customer focused • Positively motivates team and promotes teamwork • Develops others • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities Critical leadership capabilities: • Set Direction Clearly communicate strategy for shop goals to team and ‘customers’ • Create Edge Instill a must do, can do attitude in the entire maintenance team • Drive Results Drive continuous improvement in an ever changing environment • Liberate Potential Additional Information – • All applicants must be eligible to work in the US. • The successful candidate will be willing to work overtime and some Saturdays during peak periods, is able to maintain a strong personal and work ethic during high stress periods, • Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis • Willing to obtain forklift certification • Able to work in hot, dusty and dirty conditions, and is able to work in close contact with corn and soybean seed and plant material.
