HR Business Partner – Kekaha, HI - 1717 Role Purpose – The purpose of the HR Business Partner is to support positioning Syngenta as an employer of choice, acting as a liaison between the corporate HR function and local leadership, ensuring business objectives are achieved. Accountabilities – Business Strategy • Partner with and support local managers and leadership teams to identify and manage HR needs of the group, ensuring alignment with corporate HR policies, processes and procedures. • Develop understanding of strategic plans and provide fundamental HR support and counsel. Recruiting • Implement recruiting, hiring and retention strategies in conjunction with corporate HR and external recruiters. • Actively participate in local workforce planning for seasonal and regular full-time roles. Talent / Perforamnce Management • Understand and provide support to leadership teams for talent management • Provide guidance and coaching on employee relations issues ensuring that all Syngenta policies and practices are applied and are in compliance with federal and state law. • Develop understanding of learning and development needs to help identify and implement training and organizational development actions. • Facilitate performance management cycle including goal setting and review/calibration meetings, ensuring Syngenta standards are implemented. Compensation • Develop and collaborate with corporate HR and compensation function for market pricing/compensation elements for employees. • Lead local salary cycle, basic and executive incentive plans. Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities – Critical knowledge: • Incumbent must have BA/BS degree in human resources, business administration or related field. • Candidate must have general knowledge of State and Federal HR Law and strategies. Critical experience: • Minimum three years of prior progressive Human Resources experience. • Experience working with employees at multiple levels of the organization (interpersonal savvy) • Candidate must have helped to resolve employee issues, have some experience in coaching employees at various levels, have experience in working with teams, and have experience making presentations. Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities: • Proven ability to work with diverse groups of people and develop strong working relationships. • Strong leadership and colaborative capabilities. • Strong communication skills at both the group and individual levels. • Open mindedness and ability to see the bigger contextual picture. • Ability to prioritize and multi-task on various projects. • Ability to recognize others and celebrate success. • Uses professional concepts; applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. • Exercises sound judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. • Has internal and external professional contacts. • Ability to speak Tagalog and/or Ilocano is a plus.
