Hawaii Conversion Lead

Critical knowledge:

• Masters Degree in an agriculture related field with significant experience managing breeding / conversion trials of corn or related crops.
• High level of competency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.

Critical experience:

• Demonstrated competence in corn culture and trait integration in field environments.
• Demonstrated leadership and proven people and project management skills
• Knowledge of biotechnology and transgenic expression in plants.
• Knowledge of corn breeding.
• Training or experience in project, team, and people management, in a culturally diverse environment.
• Demonstrated success in technical proficiency in the area of genetics and plant breeding as applied to conversion projects, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought.
• Expert knowledge of scientific principles and concepts, and demonstrated ability to apply new technologies or adapt processes to crop improvement.
• Understanding of the process for conversion of elite material with single or multiple locus traits.

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:

• Demonstrated ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selection methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Demonstrated ability to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to other personnel.

• Varies from typical office to some field work
